The relationship between Denmark and Mozambique dates back to before independence. It rests on a long-standing collaboration and human ties which have led to strong and diversified links between our two countries. Mozambique was therefore chosen as one of the first partner countries for Danish development assistance in 1989. Development cooperation with Mozambique encompasses today seven sectors within a total annual indicative budget of over 60 million US $. Besides the sector programmes Denmark’s support also goes through the business-to-business programme and the mixed credit programme. Several Danish companies are represented in Mozambique and the Danish NGOs Ibis, MS (Danish Association for International Cooperation) ADPP are working in the country on a permanent basis, while SID and HK have occasional projects. Approximately 250 Danes are living in Mozambique at the moment. With this website we aim to further the knowledge and understanding of the latest developments within the Danish cooperation with and support to Mozambique as well as to provide information about the situation within the country in general and its potential. The Embassy will be pleased to provide additional information and assistance whenever needed - please, do not hesitate to contact us. Johnny Flentø Ambassador
